Most of the articles you get in the NMSU Library databases will be from scholarly journals. But is the article you found a "scholarly" article? Here is how to make sure:
1) Is it more than 5 pages long?
2) Is it describing a research experiment or study? Look for sections labeled "Methodology" or "Results."
3) Does it have a bibliography at the end, showing the references cited?
4) Do you see charts and graphs indicating data analysis?
5) Does it seem to be written by experts, for other experts in that field?
These guidelines should help you choose the right articles for this assignment, but check with your instructor if you still have doubts.
