HIST 398 : Historians and History

The American Historical Association (AHA) is the largest professional organization in the United States devoted to the study and promotion of history and historical thinking.

The Branigan Cultural Center is dedicated to engaging our visitors in the rich heritage of the Southwest and the world at large through artistic, cultural, and historical exhibitions and programs.

Dedicated to the long-term preservation of the history and culture of Doña Ana County; to encourage greater appreciation of New Mexico history, especially that found in and around Doña Ana County.

The Historical Society of New Mexico is an active group of New Mexico history enthusiasts. In addition to sponsoring an annual history conference and speakers bureau, the society is dedicated to:
--Increasing the knowledge of New Mexico history
--Disseminating information on New Mexico history
--Encouraging preservation of historic objects and property

Organization of American Historians (OAH) is the largest professional society dedicated to the teaching and study of American history. The mission of the organization is to promote excellence in the scholarship, teaching, and presentation of American history, and to encourage wide discussion of historical questions and the equitable treatment of all practitioners of history.

The World History Association is a community of scholars, teachers, and students who are passionately committed to the study of the history of the human community across regional, cultural and political boundaries.

The mission of the Office of the State Historian is to foster and facilitate an appreciation and understanding of New Mexico history and culture through education, research, preservation, and community outreach.
