Library Instruction Program

NMSU Library Instruction News

  • Our instruction page has been updated for Fall 2021 and a return to campus. We're excited to be back with our NMSU community in person.

  • In late Spring 2021 the library implemented a new tool in Canvas to allow NMSU faculty to more seamlessly add library resources into their Canvas classes. This dramatically improves the student experience. For more information see the page here on Adding Research Guides & Database Resources to your Canvas Course.

  • The Library Instruction Program continues to revise these pages to communicate more effectively with the NMSU and surrounding communities the instruction assistance we offer and provide a perspective of best practices of librarians as educators.

  • We're working on cleaning up the library's Library Guides to make them easier for our campus community to search and use. This is a large, ongoing project that will take a while. Our users can expect more relevant results when searching in Research Guides, better organization, and different modes of delivering information.

  • In Fall of 2021, Course Guides will be renamed and the stable URL altered to affect the change in course numbering at NMSU. Feel free to contact library instruction if you have any questions.

  • In 2019/2020 Course Guides shifted to private links in order to change the search results of Library Research Guides to make the results more relevant to users seeking help with Library resources and research. We saw a marked improvement for users searching for help. Our recommendation is to link to these guides directly in your Canvas courses where students can access them more easily, using our newly implemented tool in Canvas.
