Information on the book acquisition program designed to swiftly meet faculty members’ information needs

Process

Instructions

  1. Please use this form for purchase recommendations of digital formats only. The proposals may include one-time purchases, such as packages of electronic books and backfile collections of periodicals.
  2. The maximum request amount is $20,000. Proposals over this amount may be considered depending on the number of submissions received and funding availability.
  3. Please complete the form as thoroughly as possible in electronic format and save it as a separate Word document.
  4. Send an e-mail with the subject heading Funding Proposal with the proposal attached as a Word document to the Collections Team at lib-colldev@nmsu.edu.
  5. The proposal deadline is Friday, October 28, 2022, with a potential request for additional information due by November 14, 2022.

Note: It is highly recommended for proposal authors to collaborate with an NMSU librarian to prepare title lists.

 

Evaluation of Proposals 

  1. The Collections Team will evaluate proposals according to the rubric at the end of this document.  
  2. A minimum of 8 points is needed for consideration. The Collections Team may ask for additional information due by November 14, 2022.  
  3. The Collections Team will rank proposals based on scores, costs, and available funding. 
  4. Responses to the proposals will go out by December 9, 2022.
