  Software and Description
Media Creation Adobe Creative Cloud gives users access to a collection of software developed by Adobe for graphic design, video editing, web development, photography, and cloud services.
Maya is professional 3D software for modeling, animation, and rendering. Maya is used in a variety of industries such as film, television, and gaming to create high quality 3D content.
3ds Max is professional 3D software for modeling, animation, and rendering. 3ds Max is used in a variety of industries such as film, television, and gaming to create high quality 3D content.
Unity is a powerful and widely-used cross-platform game engine and development framework. It is used to create both 2D and 3D games, simulations, and interactive experiences for various platforms, including PC, consoles, mobile devices, VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), and more.
Unreal Game Engine is a popular and widely-used real-time 3D creation tool used to create 3D games, assist with movie and TV production, architecture, automotive and transportation development, and more.
Blender is a free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation.
GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is a cross-platform, open-source image editor for graphic design, photography, and illustration
Paint.NET is image and photo editing software that features support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools.
darktable is an open source photography workflow application and raw developer. A virtual lighttable and darkroom for photographers. It manages your digital negatives in a database, lets you view them through a zoomable lighttable and enables you to develop raw images and enhance them.
Krita is a professional, open source painting program. It can be used for concept art, texture and matte painting, illustrations, comics, and more.
Makehuman is an open source middleware tool designed to simplify the creation of virtual humans using a Graphical User Interface. The ultimate goal is to be able to quickly produce a wide array of realistic virtual humans with only a few clicks of the mouse and be able to render or export them for use in other projects.
Audacity is an open source, easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder.
Engineering SolidWorks is professional computer aided design (CAD) software used for creating 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts, assemblies, and products. SolidWorks is specifically designed for engineering and product design applications, making it a valuable tool for professionals in various industries.
AutoCAD is widely used computer aided design (CAD) software that allows users to create 2D and 3D drawings and models of physical components or structures. It is employed in various industries for tasks ranging from drafting and detailing to complex 3D modeling.
Fusion360 is a cloud-based 3D computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE), and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) platform. It is designed to bring together various aspects of the Autodesk product development process into a single, integrated environment. It requires an Autodesk login, available for free to anyone with an NMSU email address.
FreeCAD is an open-source parametric 3D modeler made primarily to design real-life objects of any size using computer aided design (CAD). Parametric modeling allows you to easily modify your design by going back into your model history and changing its parameters.
OpenSCAD is open source software for creating solid 3D CAD models. OpenSCAD is not an interactive modeller. Instead it is something like a 3D-compiler that reads in a script file that describes the object and renders the 3D model from this script file. This gives you (the designer) full control over the modelling process and enables you to easily change any step in the modelling process or make designs that are defined by configurable parameters.
Programming/Development Visual Studio Code is a lightweight but powerful source code editor with built-in support for JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js and has extensions for other languages and runtimes (such as C++, C#, Java, Python, PHP, Go, .NET).
MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing platform used by millions of engineers and scientists to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models.
Jupyter Notebook is the latest web-based interactive development environment for notebooks, code, and data. Its flexible interface allows users to configure and arrange workflows in data science, scientific computing, computational journalism, and machine learning. Jupyter supports over 40 programming languages, including Python, R, Julia, and Scala.
Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) - or Arduino Software - contains a text editor for writing code, a message area, a text console, a toolbar with buttons for common functions and a series of menus. It connects to the Arduino hardware to upload programs and communicate with them.
Statistics SPSS is software for advanced statistical analysis. It offers a vast library of machine learning algorithms, text analysis, open-source extensibility, and integration with big data.
Knime is an open-source data analytics, reporting and integration platform. KNIME integrates various components for machine learning and data mining. It allows assembly of nodes blending different data sources, including preprocessing, modeling, data analysis and visualization without, or with minimal, programming.
Geography ArcGIS Pro is a full-featured professional desktop GIS (Geographic Information System) application. With ArcGIS Pro, you can explore, visualize, and analyze data; create 2D maps and 3D scenes; and share your work to ArcGIS Online.
QGIS is a user friendly Open Source Geographic Information System (GIS) licensed under the GNU General Public License. It supports numerous vector, raster, and database formats and functionalities.
Google Earth Pro is a geospatial desktop application that allows you to see the world and create highly detailed maps. Earth Pro's 3D mapping system allows you to import and export GIS data, go back in time with historical imagery, and analyze and capture geographical data.
Productivity Microsoft Office is a suite of productivity software applications. It encompasses a collection of programs designed to help users create, edit, and manage various types of documents, presentations, spreadsheets, emails, and more.

In addition to a variety of software packages, our computers have the following games pre-installed:

Please note that each game requires its own account to log into, though the games are free. If there is another game you wish to play, please inform the Lab staff and we will see if we can install it.
