NMSU's Library Catalog

Use our Library's catalog to find information what we have here at NMSU's library about your group.

Books are a great start to find out historical information.  If you selected a topic that has been studied for a long time or very intensely,  a book will be a great starting point.

Remember that a book often is a great resource for historical or background information!

Electronic Reference Books

Our online encyclopedias are a great way to gather basic information!  Browse these encyclopedias for more ideas.

About the EBSCO E-book Collection

EBSCO E-books provides NMSU Library users access to electronic books in a wide variety of subject areas.  You must be a member of the NMSU community to view the EBSCO E-book Collection.  Off-campus users will be asked to log in to the proxy server using their myNMSU username and password.

Searching for e-books:

By far, the easiest way to access e-books in the NMSU Library collection is to use the EBSCO E-book Collection link:

You can search for some e-books using the Library catalog, which is linked here:

Reading an e-book:

After having searched and retrieved an e-book, you can view and read the book, one page at a time. Use left column to navigate between chapters or use the right and left arrows on the viewer toolbar at the bottom of the screen to read the book page by page. This toolbar also gives you the option zoom out and in on the page as well as to view the entire page at once.

Other functions:

Printing: You can up to 60 pages from an e-book.
Search within the e-book: Click on the magnifying glass to search for words or phrases in the book.
Take notes: You can take notes on an e-book and save them to your my EBSCOhost folder. You will need to set up a my EBSCOhost account. Click on sign in in the upper left of screen and then on Create a New Account
Cite an e-book: Click on the citation icon & choose from a variety of citation styles.
Email: Click on the e-mail icon to send a permanent link to the e-book.
Create a permanent link to an e-book: Click on the chain icon to display the permanent link to the book. This is helpful if you need to use the e-book regularly.
